MARYSVILLE – Marysville Police Department detectives are investigating a stabbing that occurred in the 5000 block of 139th Place NE, early Sunday morning.
At about 3:30 Sunday morning officers responded to a residence who called 911 indicating there was a man on their front porch who had blood on his face. At the same time police were notified of a second 911 call from the house directly next door in which the residents, who were having a backyard gathering, were reporting a man had just jumped over their fence carrying two knives. They indicated that members of their party were holding the subject on the ground, waiting for police.
Officers were able to determine that a stabbing had occurred at a third residence located across the street. Detectives are in the process of securing a search warrant to enter into the residence to search for evidence.
The suspect, a 30-year-old Marysville man, was taken into custody for questioning before being booked at the Snohomish County Jail for Assault-First Degree, Domestic Violence.
The victim, a 26-year-old Marysville man, was transported to an Everett hospital with multiple non life-threatening stab wounds.
The suspect and victim are related and this is not a random violent act and there is no immediate danger to the surrounding neighborhood. “We do not yet know what transpired before the stabbing took place and continue to investigate” stated Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux of the Marysville Police Department.
