MARYSVILLE – On Christmas Day at approximately 12:44 p.m., Marysville Police patrol officers were dispatched to a residence in the 6500 block of 98th Place in Marysville regarding a male who had received non-life threatening knife injuries during a scuffle with his brother.
The reason given for this fight was the father of these two involved told the suspect, a 33-year-old male that he could not bring his girlfriend to the family gathering. The suspect started physically assaulting his step-mother and father when the brother, a 37-year-old visiting Montana resident, stepped in to defend the two family members being assaulted.
The suspect used a folding style knife to inflict several injuries to his brother. The mother of the suspect transported him from the area under fear of being harmed by her son until she was told about the stabbing. She ordered him from her vehicle somewhere in the Marysville area.
Family members state they do not know where the suspect is currently residing. The victim was transported via ambulance to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. His current status is unknown at this time although the injuries do appear to be non-threatening.
Probable cause for Assault in the 2nd Degree was broadcasted throughout the region for the suspect whose whereabouts are unknown.
This investigation will be continued by the Marysville Police Investigation Division.
