MARYSVILLE — Ballots will soon be due for a special election in which voters could approve a Marysville School District bond and support levy.
Ballots for the special Snohomish County election may be returned until Feb. 9 either by mail or at a 24-hour drop box located in front of the county courthouse at Rockefeller Avenue and Wall Street in Everett.
Residents can also drop off ballots at the Marysville Sno-Isle Library, located at 6120 Grove Street, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb. 8 and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 9.
In Marysville, voters will be casting their ballot as to whether the Marysville School District should authorize a $78 million bond to build two elementary schools and a middle school.
If approved, the bond would allow the district to replace Liberty and Cascade elementary schools and Marysville Middle School.
A second proposition — a $21 million school support replacement levy — will also be on the ballot. If approved, the levy would replace an expiring levy that will be used on a number of education-related operations.
If that levy is not approved, the district would lose approximately 20 percent of its budget.
