MARYSVILLE — For years, the Mountain View Presbyterian Church has supported the Marysville Community Lunch Program, the Marysville Master’s Feast Ministry, the Snohomish County Christmas House, the Mountain View Presbyterian Church Deacons Fund, Eagle Wings DisAbility Ministries, Papa’s House in Russia, Mission to the Wolof People, Youth With A Mission, the Marysville Community Food Bank, the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the Everett Gospel Mission, the Summer Jubilee, OC International and Young Life International, and an assortment of benefits for Cascade Elementary, including tutoring, an after-school music program, and coats and shoes.
However, the church’s members feel that much more can be done to aid those in need.
“We want to be able not only to expand our support and participation in the ministries and organizations with which we are currently involved, but also to look for new areas and ways to help others,” said Pastor John Mason of the Mountain View Presbyterian Church.
As part of their efforts to give of their time and resources to help those in need, as well as to expand their ministry, the church’s members will host the first in what they hope will become an annual series of charity auctions and desserts, starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the Mountain View Presbyterian Church, located at 5115 100th St. NE in Marysville.
All proceeds from the church’s “Springtime in Paris Auction and Dessert” will go toward its general mission fund, and Mandy Jordan is chairing the all-volunteer committee.
Auction attendees will get a taste of some flavorful desserts and have an opportunity to bid on auction lots, for which winners will receive receipts from the Mountain View Presbyterian Church thanking them for their charitable donations.
