MARYSVILLE – The Marysville Firefighters Local 3219 and Santa say donations are down this year as they plan to gather food again for the Marysville Community Food Bank.
They will be at Safeway, 1258 State Ave., from 2–6 p.m., Dec. 2, 3 and 4.
Firefighters and Santa will accept donations of food, unwrapped toys or cash.
Food bank and Toy Store volunteers are urging the community to help neighbors in need by donating in the red giving barrels at more than 60 locations.
People can also drop off food items (including turkeys and hams), unused toys, stocking stuffers, cash cards, candy or wrapping materials at the food bank, 4150 88th St. NE, behind St. Mary’s Church, from 8 a.m. to noon daily (except Wednesday and Sunday) and Tuesday from 2-7 p.m.
Another way people can give is by bringing an unwrapped gift – for newborn to 17 years old – to any Tree of Giving. Trees are located at K-mart, 9623 State Ave., and Home Street Bank, 1238 State Ave. Christmas Food Baskets will be distributed Dec. 18, 21-22. The Toy Store is open Dec. 16-17.
Marysville Parks and Recreation, 6915 Armar Road, any Marysville Fire District station and Marysville police, 1635 Grove St. are also taking donations.
