MARYSVILLE – A 39-year-old Marysville man was killed just before 3 a.m. Sunday when he was kneeling on 88th Street and was struck by a car driven by a 54-year-old woman.

The man has been identified as Randal J. Gregg.

Marysville police responded to the collision in the 4700 block of 88th N.E. The woman, also of Marysville, was eastbound on 88th when in the roadway, kneeling low and facing away from traffic, was the man. Just prior to impact the victim raised up but it was too late for the driver to stop.

The man died at the scene. Investigators did not believe there was any impairment on the part of the driver. Autopsy and toxicology tests will be conducted by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine whether there was any impairment of the deceased.
