MARYSVILLE — Marysville-Pilchuck High School went into lockdown between 2:04-2:24 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, after Marysville Police reported “suspicious activity” in the area to the Marysville School District, which was later confirmed to have been a home invasion robbery.

Just after 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 23, Marysville Police responded to an assault call in the 10500 block of 56th Drive NE. While en route to the scene, officers were advised two suspects, a male and a female, were no longer in the house. As officers arrived on the scene, the male suspect had been tackled and was being held down by one of the victims, and was taken into custody at that time.

Officers learned the two suspects — a 42-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, both Arlington residents — had gone to the residence believing stolen property belonging to a third party was inside. The two suspects forced their way into the residence brandishing handguns. The female suspect pointed her handgun directly at one of the four victims inside, threatening to kill him if they did not get what they were looking for. A male victim reached out and grabbed the handgun away from the female suspect, while a female victim ran into a bedroom down a hallway. The other male victim began scuffling with the male suspect over his weapon. The scuffle between the two men went to the ground, at which point the female victim in the bedroom ran back out and sprayed the male suspect with a can of bear mace. After being maced, the male suspect was disarmed by one of the victims.

At this point, both suspects fled the house. The male suspect, because of his condition due to the mace, was unable to get far before he was tackled by one of the victims, as officers arrived on the scene.

Less than one hour after the initial call, the female suspect called 911 to advise officers where she was located, and that she wanted to turn herself in. She was taken into custody about six blocks away from the scene of the crime.
