Paper Tigers, other events canceled; Downed power lines close roads

MARYSVILLE — The city is warning motorists and pedestrians that some roads are closed due to the wind blowing down trees onto power lines.

All school activities also have been canceled, including the showing of the movie Paper Tigers at Marysville-Pilchuck High School. Also there will be no sports practices, after-school events or planned meetings.

All city events are cancelled. This includes parks activities and sports coach meetings.

A high wind watch is in effect until 10 p.m. Winds will be blowing either south or southwest at 25-40 miles per hour, with gusts near 60 mph expected for the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 18.

The city is warning motorists and pedestrians to avoid:

SB I-5 off-ramp to SR 529 – downed power line

52nd Street NE, between Sunnyside Boulevard and 63rd Drive NE.

51st Avenue at 130th Street

Eighth Street between Delta and Cedar avenues

64th Street at Marine Drive.

64th St. near 53rd Ave/Jennings Park

The Marysville-Tulalip school campus is out of power. This includes the Arts & Technology High School, Tenth Street Middle School, Heritage High School and Quil Ceda/Tulalip Elementary.
