Paving of Hwy. 9 roundabout leads to closures on 84th

MARYSVILLE – Drivers should plan for full closures of 84th Street Northeast this week for the final paving of a new roundabout on State Route 9.

MARYSVILLE – Drivers should plan for full closures of 84th Street Northeast this week for the final paving of a new roundabout on State Route 9.

Contractor crews working for the state Department of Transportation will close 84th overnight on Wednesday and Thursday Oct. 8-9.

Closure details:

Wednesday to Thursday morning: 84th on the east side of SR 9 will be closed from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers will follow a signed detour via 99th Avenue Northeast. Both directions of SR 9 and 84th Street Northeast on the west side of the highway will remain open, but drivers will be flagged through the intersection.

Thursday to Friday morning – 84th on the west side of SR 9 will be closed. Drivers will detour via 83rd Avenue Northeast. The other side of the highway will remain open.

Temporary striping also will be done. Permanent striping will begin in late October with completion later this fall after planting and cleanup are done.
