Police arrest suspect in Marysville bank robbery

Marysville Police have arrested a lone female following the robbery of the North County Bank in Marysville.

MARYSVILLE — Marysville Police have arrested a lone female following the robbery of the North County Bank in Marysville.

On Tuesday, May 5, at 4:30 PM a lone female entered the North County Bank in 1000 block of State Avenue in Marysville. The female was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, blue jean pants and holding a handgun in her hand.

The female suspect brandished the handgun and immediately demanded money from three tellers. After obtaining the money from the tellers she walked out of the bank and fled in a black Mitsubishi sedan.

A Marysville Police Officer was on I-5 northbound and observed a black Mitsubishi sedan northbound with a female driver matching the description of the robbery suspect. The officer followed the vehicle into unincorporated Snohomish County and stopped the vehicle after additional Marysville Officers and Snohomish County Deputies were available.

The female was taken into custody with out incident. One of the bank employees was taken to the location of the stop and identified the female as the person that had just robbed the Bank.

The vehicle was taken to Marysville Police Department and is being secured until a search warrant is obtained. The amount of money that was taken has not been determined at this time.

The suspect is a 24-year-old Marysville resident. She was transported to Marysville Jail and will be booked into Snohomish County Jail for Robbery 1st Degree.

On April 20 the Marysville Fred Meyer’s Market on State Avenue was also robbed by a female wearing a hooded sweatshirt matching the description of this suspect. Marysville Detectives are continuing that investigation.
