Police ask for public's help in locating suspects in assault

MARYSVILLE – Marysville police responded at approximately 8 p.m. on Jan. 27 to the 7/11 market at Grove Street and State Avenue to investigate the report of a female victim of a gunshot.

The investigation revealed that a 40-year-old Marysville woman had been at the Taco Bell restaurant at Seventh Street and State Avenue where she recognized a male in a pickup truck with another male. The victim asked for a ride and entered the truck with the two men.

The three drove to the 7/11 market at Grove and State and parked in the parking lot. When the victim attempted to exit the truck, the male passenger struck her on the back of the head with a pistol. The victim was able to exit the vehicle and contact the 7/11 employee for assistance.

The female was transported to the Colby Campus Hospital in Everett for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Marysville police detectives continue to investigate this incident and are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspects Mikhail P. Shutov and Kevin D. Stagner. They may be associated with a gray 2004 Toyota Tundra, four-door pickup, Washington license B17792C. Both men are known to frequent the Everett area.
