MARYSVILLE – Police say a tool with a 1 1/2 inch blade was confiscated from a backpack at Kellogg Marsh Elementary School after an alleged threat of a stabbing Tuesday.
Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux confirmed the report Friday.
School Principal Eneille Nelson said in a letter sent home to parents that inaccurate information put on social media increased concern about the incident, but that proper procedures were followed.
Deidre O’Reilly, the mother of the girl who was reportedly threatened, told KING 5 that no one from the school notified her of the threat. She found out when she picked up her daughter from school that day. O’Reilly put it on Facebook, and more than 1,200 people saw it, some commenting on similar issues at other Marysville schools.
