MARYSVILLE The City Council has scheduled a public hearing to consider the citys Six-Year Transportation Improvement Plan, a long-term master plan that identifies key projects intended to improve efficiency and safety on Marysvilles roadway system.
The meeting will be 7 p.m. Monday, June 25 in the Council Chambers, in City Hall, 1049 State Ave.
The proposed plan lists 38 projects with a combined total cost estimated at $306 million for the years 2008-2013, with about 60 percent of these projects being funded through grants and other funding sources, said Jeff Massie, Assistant City Engineer.
This transportation plan provides the Council and public with an opportunity to prioritize improvements to the city and areas transportation infrastructure, Massie said. State law requires cities to adopt an annual comprehensive transportation plan, which ensures the city has available advanced plans for the future as a guide to coordinated street, road and non-motorized construction program. The TIP is also required to secure federal and state funding.
