MARYSVILLE — A robbery suspect found his flight from the law short-lived on the afternoon of Oct. 6.
Marysville Police Detective Sgt. Deryck McLeod reported that a call came in at 4:37 p.m. of a robbery at the Radio Shack in the 1300 block of State Avenue.
“From there, the robbery suspect fled across the railroad tracks and our Pro-Act Team officers gave chase,” McLeod said.
The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody in the 1000 block of Cedar Avenue, near a residence on the east side of the street.
“He’ll be booked into jail for robbery,” McLeod said. “It seems like the store clerk did the right thing, and gave the suspect the money and let the police do their jobs.”
From here, K-9 officers will be backtracking the scene to look for the weapon.
“Nobody was hurt, everybody was safe and everyone gets to go home,” McLeod said. “Except for the suspect.”
Employees of the Marysville Radio Shack store declined to comment.
