MOUNT VERNON Skagit Symphony welcomes families to a free, child-friendly concert featuring the Prokofiev classic, Peter and the Wolfto be presented Sunday, Jan. 28 at 2 p.m. at McIntyre Hall in Mount Vernon.
Narrated by Jerome Chandler, the concert is designed specifically for young music lovers from age 3 and up. The concert musically presents the story of Peter and Grandfather, as well as a cat, a bird, a duck and of course a wolf.
Several surprise guests include Kiara Landi who will be conducting.
Seating is festival style, with admission free on a first come-first served basis. Doors will open at 1 p.m.
This concert is a collaboration between the Symphony and The Childrens Museum of Skagit County who are providing music exhibits and activities in the lobby of McIntyre Hall prior to the concert.
While admission is a free donations are always cheerfully accepted.
The Skagit Symphony is a non-profit organization supported by both concert attendance and private and public funding.
