EVERETT The Snohomish County Arts Commission is seeking proposals from artists for the first seven projects in its Snohomish County Public Arts Program.
The projects are largely artist-designed landscaping elements in seven different county parks.
The budgets for each project below include design fees, consultant fees, permit feets, insurance, taxes, materials, fabrication, transportation and installation, and any site modification.
Community gathering plaza at Paine Field Community Park in south Everett. Budget is $50,000 for a 60-by-60-foot plaza adjacent to a large play area.
A 30-foot flag-pole circle in a plaza at the Lake Stevens Community Park to be used for events and medal ceremonies. Budget of $27,000.
Artistic treatments to 300 feet of concrete paths that inspire sportsmanship leading up to ball fields at Lake Stevens Community Park. Budget is $20,000.
An artistic feature to be integrated into a grassy path bordered by parallel rows of trees for the gateway to Martha Lake Community Park in Lynnwood. Budget $65,000.
A green-space focal point for the south end of the park to draw visitors into Martha Lake Community Park, Lynnwood. Budget $30,000.
Artistic feature in green space that ties in the sense of flying with skateboarding at Martha Lake Community Park in Lynnwood. Budget $25,000.
A unique way to identify and direct campers to yurts in a new yurt village at River Meadows Park in Arlington. Budget is $5,000.

Call for peligic art
Solovei Art Gallery seeks artists of all media to participate in a theme show Pelagic defined as Of, relating to, or living in open oceans or seas rather than waters adjacent to land or inland waters. From pelagos, sea. The exhibit is set for July 3 – August 17.

Calling all musicians
Marysville Parks and Recreation is booking for the 2007 Sounds of Summer concert series to take place mid-July to mid-August this coming summer. Individual musicians or bands who are interested in performing outdoors should call the musician information line at 360-363-8451 for information on how to apply.
The series includes Friday evening concerts starting at 7 p.m. in Jennings Memorial Park and Thursday noon concerts in Comeford Park.
