Sound Transit is working on a 25-year, $50.1 billion mass-transit plan for growth.

Sound Transit is working on a 25-year, $50.1 billion mass-transit plan for growth.

The plan is short-sighted in that it does nothing to help the gridlock from Everett up to Smokey Point.

You can do something about that.

If you go online to soundtransit.org you can fill out a survey. It takes about 10 minutes to fill out. It doesn’t mention Marysville anywhere. But at the end it asks if anything should be added. We recommend you writing in that the plan needs to include from Everett to Smokey Point.

You need to fill out the survey by April 29. The final plan will be made in June and voted on in November.

Our commute is getting to be as bad as any. Can you imagine what it will be like 25 years from now?

Sales and property taxes will pay for this, along with car tabs, grants, bonds and fares. The average taxpayer will pay $200 a year. We should get something out of it.
