MARYSVILLE – Drivers should prepare for overnight closures of the southbound Highway 529 Snohomish River Bridge this week and a full closure this weekend.

Southbound drivers should use I-5 during the closures.

The weekend closure will begin at 8 p.m. Jan. 9 and conclude by 5 a.m. Jan. 12.

The weeknight closures will be from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Jan. 5 to 9.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will be making adjustments to the new machinery installed as part of a special bridge repair project that was completed in October 2013. The new equipment is used to raise and lower the bridge drawspan.
