SR 529 Ebey Slough bridge in Marysville closed May 17-19 | UPDATE

MARYSVILLE — The closure of SR 529 Ebey Slough Bridge planned for May 17-19 has been canceled.

UPDATE: The closure for this weekend is canceled

MARYSVILLE — Drivers headed to or from Marysville the weekend of May 17-19 will need to plan ahead for the closure of the State Route 529 Ebey Slough bridge.

Weather permitting, crews will close both directions of the bridge at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 17, so they can put down the final layer of pavement and temporary striping. The highway will reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday, May 20. Southbound drivers will follow a signed detour using Fourth Street in Marysville and southbound I-5 during the closure. Northbound drivers will be directed off SR 529 at the exit to northbound I-5 and then to the Fourth Street Exit 199 to reach Marysville.

The final overlay of pavement ensures the lanes will be flush with the concrete deck of the new bridge. Crews will also place temporary striping on the bridge. Permanent striping work will be completed this summer.

The work is part of the SR 529 Ebey Slough Bridge Replacement project. For details, graphics and photos, visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/projects/sr529/ebeysloughbridge.
