TULALIP — Maryfest, Inc., is pleased to announce that the Tulalip Tribes have once again stepped up as signature sponsors for the Marysville Strawberry Festival this year, as they have for the past several years. This year, the Tulalip Resort Hotel will also serve as the host hotel for the Marysville Strawberry Festival.
“Now that their beautiful resort is complete, we are ecstatic that we were able to negotiate a fabulous package for our guests,” said Sandie Phipps, Marysville Strawberry Festival Hospitality Chair. “In addition to the Tulalip Resort Hotel being the official Maryfest hotel, the formal dinner, hospitality, silent auction and farewell breakfast will all be featured there. It truly will be a magical fantasy come true.”
Mel Sheldon, chair of the Tulalip Tribes, expressed pride in this partnership, which he described as one of many steps in “the continuing good relationship” that has developed between the Tribes and the Marysville community.
“Last year, I participated in the parade, which was a wonderful experience,” Sheldon said. “I hadn’t realized so many Tribal members were either part of it or watching it, until I saw a Tribal family on the street every block or two. I was proud to see the Tulalip people represented.”
Sheldon pointed out that visitors or guests in town could stay overnight at the Tulalip Resort Hotel, to enjoy all of the events of the Marysville Strawberry Festival, and extended his thanks to Maryfest, Inc., the Tulalip Tribes as a whole, and Tulalip Tribes Board member Stan Jones Sr. for their “vision” in bringing this partnership about.
