MARYSVILLE — City of Marysville officials at the annual Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on April 29 recognized some of the more than 120 dedicated volunteers who serve on various city boards and committees, giving their time and energy to support crime prevention and senior services at the Ken Baxter Senior Community Center.
“Tonight we honor the hard work and selfless dedication of members of the Marysville community who answer the call to volunteer, and do so without asking for anything in return,” Marysville City Council member Jon Nehring told the volunteers on hand. “You are often the voice for, or the driving force behind, many of the recommendations that come before the policy-making City Council for action. You help shape the dialogue. Your decisions contribute to the quality of life in Marysville, and help your city provide improved public services.”
A dozen commissions, boards, committees and groups were recognized with individual certificates of appreciation and “thank you” gifts.
