MARYSVILLE – A 47-year-old woman was found dead Saturday night in the Marysville Municipal Jail, police reported.
Custody officers in the Public Safety Building found the woman unresponsive in her cell at 4:35 p.m. and began CPR.
Marysville Fire personnel also located in the same building took over efforts to revive her, but were unsuccessful, Police Sgt. Pete Shove said. The inmate was later pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
The woman had been in the jail for about four days after being arrested for outstanding warrants.
Marysville Detectives and the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the cause of her death, and her identity is not being released at this time, Shove said.
The Marysville jail provides detention for Marysville, Arlington, Lake Stevens, and hold inmates for the Tulalip Tribes and federal inmates.
