MARYSVILLE — The Word of Life Lutheran Brethren Church in Marysville is hoping to send 22 people to Mexico for a mission trip April 2-9, but they’ll need some help to do it.

To that end, Word of Life is staging a car wash and garage sale, March 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the church itself, located at 9028 51st Ave. NE. Not only are they looking for money, but they could also use donated items to sell at the garage sale.

“So far, all we’ve got is one bag of toys and two boxes of books,” said Word of Life member Susan Rieck.

Rieck explained that coffee and donuts would be available at the sale, and added that those with large items they wish to donate can call 360-659-6716 to ask about having those items picked up by a truck for them.

Each of the youths going on the trip must be at least 15 years old and raise $1,000 to cover their own costs. Once they arrive in Mexico, the youths will go to Bible school while the adults will work on the construction of a local church.
