Beloved mother and grandmother, Betty Louise Lashua, passed on to be with her loving husband, Clyde, on Oct. 13, 2008. She was born May 7, 1924 in Everett, Wash. Betty leaves behind her brother Don (MaryAnne) Anderson, three children: sons Steve (Diane) Lashua and Dave (Sarah) Lashua, and daughter Sue (Todd) Simkins. Betty also leaves nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren (with two more on the way), and two nephews.
Betty was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. She was known for her immense generosity, her gleaming personality and her homemade cookies! Betty’s life revolved around her love of God, her husband, and her family. She was also a sports enthusiast, always displaying devotion to her beloved Cougars, as well as all of the local university and professional sports teams. As a 1946 graduate of Washington State University, Betty will be renewing the Cougar/Husky rivalry with her husband Clyde, a UW graduate. Some of Betty’s fondest memories include family and friends gathering at her and Clyde’s beach house in the community of Spee-bi-dah.
Betty was a longtime resident of Marysville and spent many years nurturing relationships with community members through PTA, Children’s Orthopedics, and making house calls to hand-deliver prescriptions from Hilton Pharmacy. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed tending to her gardens full of flowers, traveling and attending many social and sports gatherings with family, friends and a special group of friends, “The 76ers.”
Betty Lou touched the hearts of all! She was the heart and soul of our family and will be truly missed.
