Beverly B. Buttke “Never Alone” Bev left us peacefully Sunday afternoon, February 26, 2017, after an extended illness.
She was born to Arne and Bernice Johnson at Everett General Hospital. Her early grade school years were spent in Everett, WA, attending Lowell Grade School.
Bev’s mother remarried, and they moved to a farm near Edgecomb. She attended Arlington schools until her sophomore year and transferred to Marysville, where she met future husband, Bob Buttke.
Both graduated from Marysville High School in 1950. Bev went on to work in Seattle, WA, and attend a half-year at Seattle University. In 1951 she started work at Snohomish County PUD. She retired from the Everett office after 26 years on April 30, 1991.
Bob and Beverly were sweethearts, engaged and married August 30, 1952, residing in Marysville, at their present home ever since. The couple raised three children: Pamela (Fred) Leamer of Burlington, WA, Michelle (Mike) Wetzel of Marysville, and Brien of Marysville; four grandchildren: Devanie (Dana) Helsing of Cheney, WA, Brandon Bartlett of Ephrata, WA, Whitney (Dave) Mirante of Lake Stevens, WA, and Morgan Buttke of Marysville; and four great grandchildren. Bev leaves a brother, David (Linda) Carlson of Lake Stevens; and cousins Delores (Sweum) Hasty and Jeanette (Dan) Anderson of Everett. Beverly, loved by all, was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and respected friend who will be forever missed.
She loved to dance with Bob! Bev was a devout Norwegian who loved to share her delicious, tasty food and recipes.
At her request there will be a “CELEBRATION OF LIFE” from 1-4 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 7215 51st Ave NE, Marysville.
