Blossom Root died on Sept. 10, from complications of pneumonia.
She was born Jan. 11, 1925, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She received her nurse’s training at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and her Bachelor’s Degree from Hunter College.
On May 29, 1946, she married Rev Charles Root. She lost her loving husband, Charles, in 1993.
She has three sons and seven grandchildren, Charles Jr. (Sara); Lee (Sue) both of Omak, Wash.; and Ken (Sue) of Arlington, Wash.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Marysville United Methodist Church on Sept. 13, at 3 p.m. Those wishing to memorialize her lifetime of service are asked to send donations to the United Methodist Board of Missions or to the youth programs of the Marysville United Methodist Church; either in care of the Marysville UMC at 5600 64th NE, Marysville, WA 98270.
