Chuck Smith died on Sep. 23 2008 from complications of cerebral palsy. He was born Dec. 12, 1964 to Myron and Jann Smith. He graduated from Marysville-Pillchuck High School in 1986. Chuck will be remembered for his ability to communicate with people in spite of his deafness and physical limitations. Chuck made great effort in his life to make others feel comfortable. He loved practical jokes, both giving and receiving, and he had a great sense of humor. Despite his disabilities Chuck was independent and determined, and never backed down from a challenge. He lived in his own apartment with great care and assistance by the people at Service Alternatives of Marysville.
Chuck enjoyed family BBQ’s and holidays, social activities provided by Eagle Wings, watching football and hockey, playing checkers, bowling, summer camp, being with friends and family. He leaves behind his loving family: Parents Myron and Jann Smith of Marysville, brothers Todd and Kyle, and sister Kelli, nieces Bethany and Brook Reed, nephews Tyler and Brendan Smith, Uncle Roger and Aunt Margaret Smith and family of Woodside, CA, and good friends Larry and Linda Padgett, and John Reed. He also leaves his wonderful caregivers and friends at Services Alternatives.
A memorial service will be held Saturday October 14 at 10a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2301 Hoyt Ave. Everett. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in Chuck’s name to Trinity Episcopal Church of Everett, and Eagle Wings Ministries of Marysville, and organization providing social activities and events for people with special needs.
Chuck had a wonderful spirit about him, and will be missed by many people he touched throughout his life.
