Daniel Sterling Arrington, 81, passed away June 3, 2016, in Woodinville, Washington. He was born in Porter, Washington, March 13, 1935, to Norman J. Arrington and Dorothea (Voorhies) Arrington Rupp.
Dan grew up in Port Orchard and graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard in 1953. He attended Olympic College, spent four years in the U. S. Air Force serving mostly in Germany, then graduated from Western Washington University. He worked for the King County Juvenile Court, for Boeing as the Deceased Affairs Coordinator, and for several years with the Washington State Department of Employment Security, retiring from the Everett office in 1996. Known for his great sense of humor and storytelling, he loved to camp, travel and pan for gold, and to read and talk about space.
Dan is survived by his wife, Gloria (Ziegler), step-children Kirk VandenBerghe, Laura Zeigler and Mark Zeigler; sisters Marythea Humphrey of Washington, Missouri; Linda Arrington, Port Orchard; and Norma Vandenberghe, Bothell, as well as several cousins and three generations of nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.
