David Earl McMillen, 73, of Marysville, Wash., passed away Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, in Stanwood, Wash.
Born June 6, 1934, he was the son of Earl and Eva McMillen. He was raised and educated in Bow, Wash.
He graduated from Burlington-Edison High School in 1953 and then worked at Lockheed Shipyard for 23 years.
He loved sports and was a fan of the Mariners and the Seahawks. Dave was also an avid golfer and once got a hole-in-one.
He resided in Marysville with wife, Alice, of 38 years and their dog, C.J. Dave and Alice enjoyed traveling and exploring the country together.
Survivors include wife, Alice McMillen, of Marysville; sister, Kay Mier, of Kansas; daughter, Debbie Dickinson, of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.; son, Dave McMillen Jr. and wife, Donna, of Sultan, Wash.; daughter, Cheri McMeekin and husband, Don, of Alabama; son, Bill McMillen, of Darrington, Wash.; son, Jeff VanPutten and wife, Stacy, of Sedro-Woolley, Wash.; and son, Jody VanPutten, of Mount Vernon, Wash. He also leaves behind 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara VanPutten.
Dave was a wonderful husband, father and friend and will be missed by all.
