Dorothy Mae Davis Erickson passed away on April 21, 2009 in Stanwood, Wash. She was born June 17, 1909 to parents Augusta and George Davis. She grew up in Marysville, Wash., where she graduated from high school. She worked for Puget Sound Power and Light before her marriage to Charles (Chuck) Erickson, also of Marysville. They moved to Arlington when Chuck began his teaching career. They remained in Arlington until their retirement. Dorothy worked for Peterson Department Store and following that began a long career with Citizen’s State Bank, now Bank of America. In 1975, Chuck and Dorothy sold their home in Arlington and moved to Priest Point in Marysville, where they enjoyed their retirement.
Dorothy was a member of Chapter I, P.E.O. and Eastern Star. She was an avid knitter and especially loved making sweaters for her family. She was an active golfer until the age of 90.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, her brother Morrie, sisters Helen Gaskill and Evelyn Brashler, her husband Chuck, son Richard, grandson Brett and great-grandson Zach. She is survived by her sons, Dr. Jack Erickson and wife Margery of Marysville, Charles (Tom) Erickson and wife Patricia of Everett and daughter-in-law Irma Erickson of Marysville, 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, Wash., at 3 p.m.
