Gladys Allen , died Monday April 20, 2009.

Gladys was born in Silvana, Wash. on July 1, 1915 to the late Knute and Gusta (Stensaa) Ottem. She married Oliver M. Allen in Seattle, Wash. on January 22, 1944, and at the close of World War II she moved to Bay City with her husband .

Gladys was a member of Memorial Presbyterian Church and was active in women’s activities, the Sunday school and choir.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her two daughters: Mary Ann (Fred) Meyer and Carolyn (Gary) Eichhorn all of Bay City. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Angella (Eric) Bowns, Brian (Shari) Clement, Bradly (Lisa) Meyer and Jeffrey (Stephanie) Meyer, 11 great grandchildren: Brendan, Zachary, Kally, Austin, Megan, Lindsay, Colin, Connor, Bryce, Jacob, and Ashley, a sister, Margit Pederson of Arlington WA, also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver on Dec. 20, 1985, two sisters Agnes Joergenson and Ruth Reese, four brothers Harold, Leonard , Clifford and Lloyd Ottem.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 with burial in Floral Gardens Cemetery.
