Janice Marie Larson, born in Barrington, Illinois June 2, 1917, passed away after a brief illness November 13, at Providence Hospital, Everett, Washington. She was the fourth of six children born to Frederick and Emma Grabenkort (Pomeroy).
In 1948, Janice married Wesley Herald Larson. In 1957 they adopted Marybeth and Debbie Walker after the death of the girls’ mother. In 1972, the Larsons moved to Marysville, Washington and became active members of Word of Life Lutheran Brethren Church. Wesley passed away in 1984, Janice continued strong, cherishing time with her family.
She is survived by her brothers Willard and Norris Grabenkort; her daughters Marybeth (Nathan) Lunde of Cooperstown, North Dakota, Deborah (Fred) Erickson of Marysville, Washington; grandchildren Aura Lee, Kaia, and David Lunde, Rachel (Noah) Rui, Rebecca (Matt) Kenall, and Abigail Erickson; and great-grandchildren Emslie and Matilda Kenall and Simon and Elizabeth Rui.
The memorial service will be held at Word of Life Lutheran Brethren Church, 9028 51st Ave NE, Marysville, Saturday, November 19 at 11:00 a.m.
Janice’s family would like to express our deep appreciation to her beloved friend Kathy Gomez and the staff at Your Bayview Adult family home who cared for her with such compassion during the last four years.
