Karen Kay Hoeye passed away on Dec. 28, 2008 in Arlington, WA. She was born to Glen and Zelma Hoeye in Esmond, SD. Karen graduated from Carthage High School of Carthage, SD in 1957.
She retired from Smokey Point Distributing Inc. in 2006. Karen was an 18-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 76 and a 15 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Stanwood Auxiliary Aerie #3041.
She was known to be a loving, caring outgoing, strong, faithful friend to everyone.
Preceding Karen in death was her father Glen Hoeye and her son Michael Sandven. Surviving her is her companion of seven years, Jim Rogers of Arlington, son Rodney Sandven of Arlington, mother Zelma Hoeye of Stanwood, WA, brother Keith (Sherry) Hoeye of Arlington, sister Karolyn (Mike) Rouse of Clarence, IA; grandsons, Russell Sandven and Randy Sandven; great-grandson Branen Sandven and many nieces and nephews as well as other loving family.
A memorial service is planned for Jan. 24, 2009, 1 p.m. at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA.
