Katherine “Kaye” Canida, a long-time resident of Marysville, Washington, died peacefully in her home Tuesday the 21st of February 2017.

The daughter of Nelson and Bertha Hawxhurst, Kaye was born in 1934 in Monroe, N.Y. She resided in numerous places throughout the country before choosing to make Marysville her home in 1974.

Kaye loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to movies and performing as the family’s movie critic, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.

She is survived by her three sons: Dennis, Joseph, and David. She is also survived by her three granddaughters: Lindsey, Courtney and Katherine; along with three great-granddaughters and niece Tammy Jo. She will be sorely missed.
