Larry Gail Barker passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 28 of congestive heart failure at age 65. This was a man who loved chocolate cake, apple pie, Fords, living in the country, being a mechanic and driving fast cars. During his younger years he had a Ford Fairlane, “Big Block:”, which caused him a lot of trouble, but he loved it!
Larry was born in Monroe WA, on August 9, 1947 to parents Lloyd & Bonnie Barker who preceded him in death. He was a 1965 graduate of Arlington High School. His employment started with Calkins Equipment on big machinery and spent the last 25 years working at D&D Excavating, plus he was the owner of Larry Barker’s Construction & Remodeling Co.
He is survived by his daughter Amy, brother Dennis, sisters Sharon and Suzie, girlfriend Kathy McIntosh and special step mother-in-law Emily and her children, John, Mary, Barbara, and Patty, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A potluck memorial service and storytelling will be held on Sunday, November 11th at 1:00 pm at the Arlington Heights Improvement Club at 12221 228th St. NE, Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arlington Heights Fire Department.
