Mark Harley Swannack, 24, formerly of Lamont, Wash., passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 24, 2006 from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident, near Pullman, Wash.
The son of Steven W. and Ann M. (Sturgeon) Swannack, Mark was born Feb. 16, 1982 at Colfax, Wash.
He attended St. John High School graduating in 2000. He attended the University of Idaho graduating in May 2006 with a double major, comprising Agriculture Education and Professional Technology and Technology Education. Prior to graduation he did his student teaching at Pomery High School. During college he worked for six years on the Palouse fire crew, a U.S. Forest Service Type Two firefighting unit based out of Potlatch, Idaho. He was employed at Naches High School as their Ag Ed Teacher. He was a member of the St. John Methodist Church and the Washington Agriculture Teacher Association. He enjoyed hunting, sports, and shooting clays.
He is survived by his parents, Steve and Ann Swannack of Lamont; sister Stephanie Swannack of Davis, Calif.; grandparents Jack and Dorothy Sturgeon of Arlington, Wash., Donna Swannack of St. John; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial Service was held at the St. John Washington Methodist Church, with Pastor John Weston officiating. A private burial was held at St. John Cemetery.
