It came to our attention just before deadline that a local Realtor was attacked during an Open House recently.
The victim did not want to talk, and Marysville police did not get back to us in time.
But we want our readers to know about it because it is a public safety issue.
The victim warned his fellow Realtors not to do Open Houses alone.
He was having an Open House on Fire Trail Road when three men came in. One acted interested, while the other two jumped him, reports say.
He was hit with a glass lamp. He tried to get out the back door, but fell. One man started kicking him in the face. He bull-rushed one of them and was able to get outside.
They ran out the front. The victim said he didn’t know them and didn’t know if they wanted to rob him or steal from the house. But he did end up with 10 staples, seven stitches and a fractured cheek bone.
We’ve all heard the horror stories of this type of thing happening, and even worse, in other communities. Now that it’s happened here Realtors should not only heed his warning, but also anyone who deals with strangers needs to be cautious.
Because Marysville-Arlington is such a nice area, we tend to trust people maybe more than we should for our own good.
