Baseball

In Wesco 3A North action Monday, Arlington blanked Marysville Getchell 14-0. Arlington improved to 19-0.

Arlington took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Owen Bishop walked, went to second on a sacrifice bunt and then to third on a fielder’s choice. Cole Cramer’s infield single to deep short scored Bishop from third.

In the top of the fourth, Bishop walked again and stole second. Andrew Smith singled, but Bishop was held at third. Cramer smacked an RBI double to make it 2-0. Smith scored on a sacrifice fly deep to leftfield just in front of the 366-foot mark at the fence. Then winning pitcher Jacob Burkett singled in Cramer, but was thrown out trying to advance to second.

From there, the Eagles pounded out 10 runs to take the win.

Meanwhile, Arlington was given another tough game by Oak Harbor Friday 2-1. It was the third close game the visitors put up against the Eagles, but all were wins for Arlington. Oak Harbor took a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth, but Arlington tallied two in the bottom of the inning to take the game and the series 3-0. 

Owen Bishop was the winning pitcher but he needed help from Jack Sheward in the seventh to close out the game. Bishop helped his own cause with an RBI. Andrew Smith knocked in the other Eagle run.

Oak Harbor fell to 2-8.

Softball

Arlington took no prisoners in whipping Stanwood 17-0 Friday. The visitors had just one hit off Eagle pitchers Liz Durfee and Brooklyn LaMie.

The Eagles jumped out of the gate with eight runs in the first inning. They had 10 hits and took advantage of four Stanwood errors. Tia Langley and Taylor Zodrow both went 3-for-4 for the Eagles, while LaMie added a double.

Tennis

Snohomish beat Arlington 6-1 Monday.

The only Eagle win was at No. 3 singles where Bo Eastman won 6-1, 6-3. At No. 3 doubles, Isabel McVey-Nina Cameron lost 6-3, 7-6 (3), and at No. 2 singles Faith Holden lost 6-3, 6-3.

Arlington got by M-P 4-3 Friday in a match at Totem Middle School.

They split the singles matches, and MG won No. 1 doubles, but the Chargers lost the other two doubles matches to give Arlington the win.

Arlington’s wins in singles were at No. 1 Elli Kikuchi defeated Paige Bramer 6-0, 6-2 and a No. 3 when Sienna Leighton beat Irina Gret in a really tough match 7-6 (3), 6-4, 7-6 (5). For M-P, Taylor Bichel bounced Eastman 6-1, 6-2 and at No. 4 Kristina Gret did the same to Abby Weber 6-2, 6-2. Athena Rondeau-Katie Stuart of M-P defeated Grace Bynum-Annika Hatfield 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles.

But at No. 2 Allyson Roller-Vicky Applegate bested Joslynn Scharpp-Maddy Baxter in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 and Bella Leighton-Alexa Price got by Taylor Martin-Maggie Schaffler, also in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.

Soccer

Oak Harbor got by Arlington Friday 3-2.
