Arlington won the last three matches to take a come-from-behind 43-33 win over visiting Marysville Getchell last Thursday.
The Eagles trailed 33-25 after Cheron Smith of MG pinned Conner Stockman in 2 minutes, 37 seconds in the match at 285 pounds.
But then, after Eric Vogel won by forfeit at 106 pounds, Dorian Tollenaar pinned Omar Salcedo in 4:22 at 113 pounds to put Arlington ahead to stay. Down four points, MG still had a shot, but Jonathan Cerna-Galindo, in his first varsity match, pinned Jacob Steele in 3:37 to clinch the victory.
Casten Tollenaar got the home team off to a good start at 126 pounds by winning a major decision over Taylor Herridge 15-2. At 132 pounds, Cody Mitchell of MG won a 6-2 decision over Cole Phillips. Arlington’s Trevor Latta then won a 7-1 decision over Joel Foster at 138 pounds.
Eagle Gabriel Price pinned Landon Weil in 1:26 to take the 145-pound match. MG won the next two with Jesús Cabadas pinning Dimitri Shaffer in 1:42 at 152 pounds, and, at 160 pounds, Christopher Bonner pinned Sean Lee in 5:25.
In the back-and-forth contest, Arlington won the next two. At 170 pounds, Rylan Polkinghorn pinned Andrew Cantu in 1:14 then Dawson Reed pinned Anatoliy Bay in 4:53 at 182 pounds.
But MG pulled back in front by taking the next two with fast pins. Caleb Blonk pinned Gabriel Vickers in 43 seconds at 195 pounds, but Erick Duenes did even better, putting Mason Marsh on his back in just 37 seconds at 220 pounds.
Meanwhile, Stanwood beat Marysville-Pilchuck 42-30 last Thursday. For the Tomahawks, at 132 pounds, Cameron Perrine won by pin, as did Iakov Bondar at 138 pounds. At 182 pounds, Cayden White also won by pin. Calisto won by pin at 220 pounds, as did Justin Albee at 285 pounds.
