The Arlington boys baseball and girls softball teams won Monday, but in very different ways.
Pitchers Owen Bishop and Cameron Smith combined for a three-hitter as the boys blanked Mountlake Terrace 11-0 in five innings.
The girls, however, had a much-tougher time, coming from behind to edge Lakewood 10-8.
In another girls fastpitch game, Marysville-Pilchuck was leading Monroe 8-7 before the game was suspended due to inclement weather.
And in girls tennis at Totem Middle School, M-P lost to powerhouse Kamiak 5-2.
The Tomahawks lost all four singles matches, but won two doubles matches.
At No. 1, Dana Bichel and Taylor Bichel of M-P won two close sets 6-4 and 7-6 with a 7-4 tiebreaker.
At No. 2 doubles, Kristina Gret and Irina Gret of M-P lost badly in the first set 6-0, but came back to win the next two 6-3, 6-2. Back to baseball, Bishop struck out eight in three innings for the win. He also starred at the plate with two doubles and a solo home run with two runs batted in. Catcher Michael Tsoukalas also crashed two doubles. And Levi Wiseman and Cole Warner are batting 1.000 for the year, both going 2 for 2.
