The Eagles clinched the Wesco 3A North title with a 3-0 whipping of Oak Harbor. The winners are 12-0 while the home team dropped to 10-2. The scores were 25-15, 25-19 and 25-20.
“It means a lot. It feels amazing to be undefeated,” Eagle coach Whitney Williams told The Herald.
Sophomore Emily Mekelburg led the Eagles with 13 kills, 4 services aces and 5 digs. Arianna Bilby had 9 kills, 3 assists and 13 digs. Julia Parra had 4 kills and 3 blocks and Teagan Sutherland 3 kills and 2 blocks. Malia Shepherd had 4 aces, Brookelynn Ramey 16 assists, Taylor Pederson 12 assists and Reese Talbot 4 kills.
SWIMMING
Marysville divers swept that event in a home meet against Stanwood Thursday.
Devon Keator was first with 185.25 points, and Kelsey Harris, also of M-P, was second. Sophie Alt of MG was third.
Cassidy O’Neal of M-P was second in the 200-yard freestyle; Lorelei Pringle was second in the 100 backstroke;
Maddy Sulya was second in the 100 breaststroke;
Katelyn Leary was second in the 200 medley, while Pringle of MG was third; Leary also was second in the 100 butterfly, with MG’s Isabella Bennett third.
Alexis Bennett of M-P was third in the 50 free; M-P’s 200 free relay team was second;
M-P’s 200-yard medley relay was third;
Team scores showed Stanwood beating M-P 130-51 and MG 134-46.
GIRLS SOCCER
Lakewood
In 2A play, Lakewood blanked Lynden Christian Thursday 2-0. Riley Christensen and Layla Thomas scored goals, with Iliana Ramirez and Jaylene Priebe-Garcia getting the assists.

The Eagles lost to Oak Harbor 2-1 Thursday in 3A play.
