MARYSVILLE – Trina Davis returned after representing Fiji in an international tournament and scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 Marysville-Pilchuck girls soccer win over Meadowdale Tuesday night.

It was the first time the lightning-fast forward has been able to play for her school team. The teams battled in the first half, and the home team came close to scoring about four times but couldn’t hit the mark.

But with a couple minutes left in the half, Hanna Koehn passed the ball to Davis, who knocked it in for her first goal of the year in Wesco 3A play.

It was only the second win of the year for the Tommies, who are 2-5-1. The Mavericks dropped to 2-4-1.

Meanwhile, the Shorewood Thunderbirds (6-2, 5-1 Wesco 3A) rolled to a 4-1 victory over the Arlington Eagles Tuesday night. Arlington’s Jordan Bartlow tallied the lone score for the Eagles.

And, Kyra Hicks recorded two goals and an assist helping Edmonds-Woodway earn a 5-0 Wesco 3A win over Marysville Getchell Tuesday night.

In 2B boys soccer, Grace Academy topped Lopez 3-2.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

ARLINGTON – The Eagles went to 6-0 in the Wesco 3A with a 25-11, 25-19, 20-25, 25-17 win over Shorewood, which fell to 1-3.

Arianna Bilby stood out for the home team with 15 kills, 5 digs and 1 block. Julia Parra added 4 spikes. Caroline Diemer contributed 21 assists.

In 2A, Sedro Woolley beat Lakewood 3-0.

GIRLS SWIMMING

At M-P, the Tommies kept it close against Everett, losing 109-74, while the Seagulls whipped MG 135-39.

M-P won the 200 medley relay with Jennica Harper, Maddy Sulya, Katelyn Leary and Alexis Bennett in two minutes and 15 seconds.

Harper then took the 200 freestyle in 2:25. Leary was second in the 100 free.

In the 50 freestyle, Isabella Bennett of MG was the victor in 29.28 seconds.

In diving, Lexi Kilbourn of MG came out on top with 239 points.

M-P picked up another win in the 100 butterfly, with Alexis Bennett coming out on top in 1:12.

The Tomahawks also came out with a win in the 200-freestyle relay with Harper, Sulya, Alexis Bennett and Leary in 2:03. Isabella Bennett of MG won the 100 backstroke in 1:10. Harper was second.

And O’Leary of M-P won the 100 breaststroke in 1:28, barely beating teammate Alexis Bennett.
