M-P gets 6 first-rounds pins in win over Stanwood

Nine seconds…

That’s all it took for Marysville-Pilchuck’s freshman sensation Cayden White to pin his Spartan opponent in the Tomahawks 60-18 Wesco 3A North win at Stanwood Thursday night.

That was in the 182-pound matchup. And his want not the only extremely fast pin on the evening.

In the next match at 195 pounds, it only took Ikaika Naweli 29 seconds to pin his foe.

After Kamiakin Craig won by forfeit, at 285 pounds, Jeff Roullier pinned his opponent in 49 seconds.

M-P won three others matches with pins in the first round.

At 113 pounds, Mikey Bejar pinned his foe in 1:46; Austin Davis followed that pinning a Spartan in that exact same time at 126 pounds; and Jonathan Goeden won with a pin in 1:52.

In the two most-exciting matches of the night, at 152 pounds Isaiah Gallindo won a decision 9-8 in sudden death and at 132 pounds Nick Cantu won by a 3-1 decision.

Mauro Bejar and Tanner Lauzon both won by forfeit.

M-P lost a match by forfeit, and two others by pin.
