The Tomahawk boys and girls teams had nine event victories en route to first-place finishes when Marysville-Pilchuck and Arlington visited Snohomish for a league meet April 16.
With most of the M-P athletes in one or two individual events, only senior Alexandra McDonald had two individual victories, winning both the 100 and 300 hurdles.
With wins in all five relays, more Tomahawks won an event and contributed to a winning relay. Sprinters Alisha Oden and Summer Cull won the 100 and 200 respectively, joining M-P triple jump champ Cali Cull on the 4×100 relay. McDonald ran a leg of the winning 4×200 relay with Sarah Clark, who set a new personal record in her pole vault victory, clearing 10-3, while the 4×400 featured Oden and Cali Cull.
On the boys side, sophomore Jacob Cartas contributed to the winning 4×100 and 4×400 relays, in addition to winning the long jump with a best mark of 20-8 1/2. His 4×100 teammates all had wins of their own, as junior Mark Pangilinan won the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles and the 200. Senior Travis Sanderson, a regular in the 300 hurdles, opted instead for the 400, which he won in 53.65. Senior Andy Abadam won the event he ran at state, taking the 100 in 11.55.
Senior distance runner Ryan Lanphere won the 1,600, beating out teammate Josh Rasmussen with a time of 4:41.43.
