EVERETT – Both the Marysville Getchell and Marysville-Pilchuck girls softball teams came within one game of going to state.

Both advanced in the consolation bracket of the 3A District 1 Tournament at Phil Johnson Fields, but lost to end their seasons Friday.

M-P came within a few runs, losing a heart-breaker to Edmonds-Woodway 2-1.

MG fell behind 7-0 in its game against Everett, before mounting a rally that fell short.
