Autograph signing
Center Field Sports in the Everett Mall announces an autograph signing with Josh Brown, kicker for the Seattle Seahawks. The signing will be held Sept. 12 from 7-8:30 p.m. Brown, the Seahawks star kicker, tied an NFL record with four game-winning kicks in the 2006 season. Autographs are $19 on any item.

On Monday Aug. 27, 43 young golfers played 100 holes at Avalon Golf Course in Burlington, to benefit the Youth Dynamics ministry to local teens. Several Arlington golfers participated including Dr. Mark Spencer, Dr. Tim Cavanaugh, Rick Mallory, Kyle Mallory, Mark Milan, Travis Milan, Mich Firman, Mark Crawford, and Craig Crawford. The golfers from Arlington raised over $20,000.
Craig Crawford carted the low score of 421 over the 100 holes. He finished with 14 birdies during the day. Micah Evans, the youngest player on the course, notched a hole-in-one on the sixth hole of the south nine. He used a five-iron on the 165 yard par three.
Baseball tryout
Coast to Coast Baseball is inviting players from around the state of Washington to showcase their skills at an open tryout at Everett Memorial Stadium. The purpose of the event is to select players ages 11-12, 13-15, and 16-18 to represent the USA in international competition in Puerto Rico, Australia, Europe, and Hawaii. The tryout is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. For more information call 740-373-4455
Warm beach vaulters at nationals
Fourteen riders and two horses from the Warm Beach Camp Vaulting Club traveled to Denver, Colo. for the American Vaulting Championships.
Vaulters competed in both the Trot and Canter divisions. The Trot team finished first overall and a Warm Beach Vaulter appeared in the top five of every freestyle round they competed in.
According to coach Patti Skipton the goal of the club is to, promote teamwork, personal responsibility, and caring for others in Jesus name alongside the development of the physical talents of the sport. The Trot team included McKenna Slack, Aurelia Carrillo, Shelby Janes, Julia Overton, Ryan Barbee, Kaleb Patterson, and Nick Lopez. The Canter team consisted of Hannah Overton, Kimberley Barnes, Ruth Overton, Jamie Wantland, McKenzie Enge, Anna Erickson, Alexandria Jaynes, and Erin Piehl
