The Marysville Football Club received a $1,000 check from the Marysville Rotary Club for the players participation in the 88th Street clean-up. Assistant coach Brian McCutcheon said the club will use the contribution to buy uniforms, pay for summer camps and help financially disadvantaged athletes participate in summer camps. Above, from left, M-P football players Travis Sanderson, Erik Gilje, Marcus McCutchen, Ryan Mead, Nick Hemming and Tannon Hillis show how much garbage they picked up off the 88th Street corridor in a June 9 clean-up as part of the Marysville Sunrise Rotarys annual clean-up. Right top, Nick Hemming shovels dirt off the 88th Street onto the street where the city streets crew will resume the clean-up effort. Right middle, on a drizzly June 9 morning, M-P football player Travis Sanderson shovels dirt off the 88th Street bridge sidewalk, unfazed by passing traffic. Right bottom, the team wrapped up their clean-up well ahead of their projected schedule. Paul Mills sweeps the sidewalk in one of their final tasks.
